Privacy

This site uses privacy-conscious analytics to understand what's working. Here is what that collects, who processes it, and how to turn it off whenever you want.

What this site measures

I run Google Analytics to see which pages people read and whether the site does its job. That covers the pages you view, the general region a visit comes from, the type of device and browser you use, and the source that referred you (a search, a link, or a social post). Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses, and this site uses none of it for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Two moments get counted as conversions: sending the contact form, and finishing the business-risk self-check. For the self-check, only the resulting score and risk band are recorded, and your individual answers stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

The contact form

When you send a message through the contact form, the details you enter come to me so I can reply. That is your name, email, and message, along with your company and how you'd like to work together if you choose to add them. I use those details to respond to you and to keep a record of our conversation. They are not added to a mailing list or shared with anyone else.

Cookies and your choices

When analytics is active, Google sets cookies in your browser so that repeat visits can be told apart. You have a few ways to opt out, and any one of them is enough on its own.

  • This site honors the Global Privacy Control signal automatically. If your browser or a privacy extension sends it, analytics stays off without any action from you.
  • You can turn analytics off right here, using the control below. Your choice is saved in your browser.
  • Your browser's own settings let you block or clear cookies for any site you visit.

Who processes the data

A few services handle this data on my behalf, each for a specific purpose.

  • Google runs the analytics service (Google Analytics 4) that produces the reports I read.
  • Microsoft Azure hosts the site, and its servers keep standard access logs the way any web host does.
  • Messages from the contact form reach me through my own Microsoft 365 email.

How long it is kept

Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which Google removes the visit-level detail and the aggregate reports carry on. Messages you send me are kept for as long as I need them to correspond with you and to keep a record of our conversation.

Questions or changes

You can reach me at michael@pelicandigitalpathways.com with any question about your data or a request to see or remove it. If this policy changes, the effective date below changes with it, and the current version always lives at this address.
